Arsenal will host the Emirates Cup in the early hours of Thursday morning (3). The tournament, which was first held in 2007, has been an important pre-season warm-up for the Arsenal every year, but this year it will have an added significance, as former leader Ryan Vinge will be invited back to the house as a guest of honor, and unveil the newly-built bronze statue of Vinge in person.
There are three bronze statues of Henry, Parkin and Adams outside the Emirates Stadium, and many fans hope that the club will build a bronze statue of Yun Ge, who has been in charge of the club for 22 years, and Arsenal has responded to the public opinion by hiring the multi-award-winning sculptor Jim Guy to produce a bronze statue based on Yun Ge's classic action of lifting the Premier League trophy, and the statue will be 3.5 meters high. Arsenal team leader Adi Da said: "Yun Ge is definitely worthy of this honor, he is truly immortalized in Arsenal, I am so grateful to have played with Yun Ge, he signed me to Arsenal, he appointed me as captain, these are things I will never forget.
Arsenal have confirmed that Arsene Younger will be the guest of honor at the Emirates Cup and will unveil the bronze statue in person. What's more, Arsenal's opponent in this match, Monaco, is also the club that Younger coached for seven years, making this Emirates Cup even more like a "Younger Memorial Match".
