In one of the highlights of the second round of the Premier League, Brentford

The visitors challenged the mighty Liverpool and ended up with a sorry 0-2 defeat. After the match, Bee's goalkeeper Flecken gave an in-depth and sincere reflection on the game in an interview with Sky Sports.

Flecken began by acknowledging the tough nature of the game, mentioning, "It was a very challenging game, Liverpool are a strong team, but we didn't let that put us off. I thought we played quite well in the first half, especially in the first 15 minutes when we quickly found the rhythm of the game. However, in the moment we conceded the goal, we really should have done better to avoid letting our opponents score easily."

Flecken had a clear idea of the situation in the second half: "Liverpool obviously increased their attacking intensity in the second half, and their second goal almost determined the direction of the game. Their strikers have strong attacking ability, which we expected before the game. Despite my best efforts to save, I couldn't stop all the goals and we ended up losing the game."

However, Flecken was not disheartened by the loss and saw many positives in it: "Even though the result was not as good as we would have liked, I think there is a lot to be positive about this game. We did quite well in possession and showed a good level of skill and tactics. It's just that we maybe need to build a closer connection with the front line in order to create more chances on the offensive end. This is something we need to focus on analyzing and improving next."

Looking ahead, Flecken is confident: "We have another game to play on Wednesday, and although our opponent is just as strong, we have the confidence and ability to go for the win. This loss will not discourage us, but will instead inspire us to train harder and be well prepared for the upcoming matches."
