Howard was born on December 8, 1985 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He showed exceptional basketball talent during his high school and college years, eventually entering the NBA draft in 2004 and being selected by the Orlando Magic.
He began his NBA career with the Orlando Magic, where he quickly showed great defensive and rebounding ability. Known for his strong body and defensive skills, Howard won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award several times during his time with the Magic. In addition, he was an excellent rebounder, becoming the rebounding champion several times.
