The Saudi Arabian League has been poaching frantically from the European football world this summer, and many of its strongest teams have succeeded in signing big-name players. The Ainas, who were the first to bring in C Ronaldo at the end of last year, finally made a move on Tuesday (4), announcing that it had signed Inter Milan midfielder Posović for 18 million euros (about HK$154 million), and that he would sign a three-year contract with an annual salary of 25 million euros (about HK$213 million).

After seeing champions Etihad sign Benschmar and Nicolai Gendi, and Hilal grab Rubin Neves and Ghoulibani, Ainas of course had to grab someone to support C Ronaldo. The 30-year-old Posovic was originally Barcelona's prey, but Ainas eventually won the battle, with Ainas announcing on Twitter that he also hinted at Barcelona: "The whole world wants Posovic, but Posovic only wants us!
