Saur's free kick also hit the crossbar and failed to convert. Villarreal, on the other hand, continued to pressurize Sevilla with more tenacious fighting spirit and excellent teamwork. Although Komesania's goal was also blown off for offside, it did not affect Villarreal's morale.
In the end, Ayose Perez stepped up as the game was coming to an end. He completed a killer goal in stoppage time to help Villarreal beat Sevilla 2-1, successfully taking three points away from home.
