According to the latest news from The Post and renowned journalist Ed Aarons, Liverpool veteran Naby Keita is closing in on completing his transfer journey to Turkish Super League side Basaksehir after a relatively quiet season. Previously, Championship side Sunderland had extended an olive branch to the 29-year-old midfielder during the summer transfer window, but unfortunately, the two sides failed to agree on a move, resulting in the deal not going through.

Naby Keita's current market value has dropped to €2 million, which is undoubtedly a huge drop from his peak transfer fee and value. Last season, he did not perform well for German side Werder Bremen, making only five appearances and only one start in the whole season, failing to contribute a goal or an assist to the team. This performance has certainly affected his transfer prospects, but Turkish Super League side Basaksehir do not seem to be deterred by this and are actively negotiating with Naby Keita in the hope of recruiting him before the transfer window closes.

It is worth noting that the transfer window in Turkey will officially close on September 13th, which means that Naby Keita still has plenty of time to finalize negotiations and officially sign with Basaksehir. Joining the Turkish Super League may be a fresh start for the one-time Liverpool midfield centerpiece, who is expected to find his form and prove himself again in his new surroundings. As for Sunderland, despite failing to bring in Naby Keita, they still need to continue to work hard in the transfer market in order to strengthen their team and be fully prepared for the Championship next season.
