In a recent interview, England soccer star Alan Shearer gave his opinion on Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford's national team prospects. Shearer believes that if Rashford wants to regain favor with the England national team, he may need to consider leaving Manchester United in order to seek a new breakthrough in his career.
I am convinced that Rashford has the ability to return to the England national team, but in order to do so he may need to make some big decisions," said Shearer. Looking at it from the outside, I think he should leave Manchester United and rekindle his passion for soccer in some way. At the moment, he seems to be in a state of stagnation, which has been going on for some time now, and it's not good for his career or his national team prospects."
Shearer further emphasized the importance of attitude and effort: "I can't know directly about his mindset or training, but I do know that the only way to get back into form is to train relentlessly and maintain the right attitude. Rashford needs to find a way to stimulate his maximum potential, and sometimes a change of scenery can be a good choice."
Rashford contributed brilliantly for Manchester United in the 2022/23 season, making 56 appearances in all competitions, scoring 30 goals and dishing out 9 assists, a statistic that proves his strength and potential. However, as the season progressed, Rashford's form seemed to fluctuate, making his place in the national team less secure.
Shearer concluded, "Only Rashford himself knows how strong his inner desire to return to peak form is. I believe he has the ability to do this, but the key lies in whether he is willing to put in the effort and make the right choice. Whatever path he ultimately chooses, I will support him and look forward to him being able to shine on the pitch again."
