In a recent interview with Chelsea officials, England national team set-up player Colville expressed his anticipation of his upcoming re-union with Carsley, his appreciation for teammate Fofana, and his personal thoughts on Chelsea's draw with Crystal Palace last weekend.
Talking about his reunion with Carsley, Colville could not hide his excitement. He said: "I'm very happy to be reunited with him. My previous experience with England U21 has shown me that he is an outstanding coach. His ability to develop players is obvious to all and he always gets them to play at the top level. So it's an exciting time for England to have him on board. I am deeply honored to be a part of this as an England player and proud to be an England fan."
Speaking about Chelsea teammate Fofana, Colville spoke highly of him: "Fofana is a very good player, and I can always feel his aggression and dedication to the game when I play with him. We work well together on the field and we are good friends off the field. I'm sure everyone in the team loves him because not only is his skill outstanding, but his character is equally commendable."
Regarding Chelsea's draw with Crystal Palace last weekend, Colville said: "As Chelsea players, of course we want to win every game, but that's the way the soccer game is, sometimes there will be unexpected results. Crystal Palace is a good team and they showed their characteristics in the game. It was not a good game, but there were a lot of positives to take away from it. We need to keep improving and improving in the next games and try to beat them in the next game."
Colwell also emphasized the team's progress on the offensive end: "During the game, we created a lot of chances by organizing the attack from the back, which showed the tactical intentions of the manager and our ability to execute them. There is still a lot of room for improvement, but we can see that the team is getting better day by day. The soccer we played was really good and it gives us confidence for the future."
Finally, Colville expressed optimism about the team's future: "We've only been working with the new manager for a few games, but we can already feel the changes he's brought about. All the players are excited and looking forward to it, and I'm sure the fans will feel the passion as well. We will continue to work hard and bring more exciting games to our fans."
