Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that striker Harland will not be able to return for Wednesday's Champions League home game against Sevilla.
Rand was injured in the last round of the Champions League against his old club Borussia Dortmund Mon and subsequently missed the Premier League.
Guardiola was first asked about the Norwegian striker when he attended a press conference on Tuesday.
In response, the manager said, "He didn't have Saturday, Sunday and Monday compared to Monday, he feels much better. He's getting better every day, but still not 100% recovered. We don't want to take risks. We want to see him against Fulham."
City have already secured top spot in Group G. This game is just a walk in the park, but the manager still wants to win : "It's a good opportunity to keep practicing, I have to see which players will start and those who don't play regularly will definitely play."
With Harland out, Alvarez will play at No. 9, and the manager said, "He can progress like all of us. He has adapted. He has great respect for everyone, is very humble and has an incredible work ethic."
