Born in Tolosa, Spain, Alonso is a Spanish manager and former professional soccer player, one of the legendary Spanish midfielders in world soccer, playing as a midfielder and back. He is currently the manager of Bundesliga side Leverkusen.
Alonso started his career at his hometown team, Real Sociedad, where he was known for his passing ability. he moved to Liverpool in the summer of 2004, winning the Champions League in his first season and the FA Cup in his second. he joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2009 for a fee of 30 million euros, during which time he won the 2011 Spain King
Cup and the 2011-12 La Liga title. He later announced his move to Bundesliga side Bayern Munich in the summer of 2014, retiring in 2017.
