Recently, Sevilla striker Ocampos bid a fond farewell to the club he once considered his home in a press conference, officially announcing his transfer to Mexican club Monterrey. In this affectionate farewell, Ocampos expressed his deep attachment to Sevilla and his expectation for new challenges in the future.

Ocampos began by admitting that it was difficult to say the parting words because Sevilla is not just a place of work for him, but more like his home. He thanked the team, the coaching staff, the physiotherapist, the kit manager and the president of the club for their support and help throughout his career. In particular, he mentioned that when his daughter needed an operation, the President of the Club was the first to visit her in the hospital, a gesture that warmed his heart and a moment that he will never forget as a father.

Reflecting on his career, Ocampos expressed his gratitude to the coaches who have coached him. He singled out coaches such as Pimienta, Mendilibar and Lopetegui as important influences on his path. He praised Pimienta's desire to leave his mark on the team and for the fans to have faith in him; he thanked Mendilibar for leading the team to the UEFA Champions League title, which was the best moment of his career; and he regarded Lopetegui as his father, as he reached the pinnacle of his career under Lopetegui.

Regarding the reasons for his transfer away, Ocampos said that he is 30 years old and that the Monterrey club gave him a chance to continue to show himself on a high level stage. He hopes to leave something to contribute to Sevilla through the transfer, rather than leaving as a free agent. At the same time, he is looking forward to the high level of the Mexican Premier League and believes he can continue to excel there.

Asked if there was any talk with River Plate about the possibility of a return, Ocampos made it clear that he grew up as a River Plate fan, but the possibility never arose and he has not spoken to anyone at the club about it. At the same time, he wished River Plate manager Gallardo all the best.

Finally, Ocampos also spoke about his upcoming partner in Monterrey, Demichelis, as well as teammates Oliver and Corona. He said that he is looking forward to working with Demichelis and believes that they will all help each other to work together towards Monterrey's athletic goals.
