At 21:00 pm BST on August 25th, a key match in the 2nd round of the Premier League started at the Vitality Stadium, home of Bournemouth, between Bournemouth and Newcastle United. The match was officiated by experienced referee David Coote.

The first half of the game saw both sides showing some good athleticism. Bournemouth's new signing Evanilson came close to scoring with a powerful shot from inside the penalty area, while Semenyo hit the post with a shot from an attacking move and missed the goal. However, the deadlock was broken in the 37th minute when Semenyo robbed Jolington and quickly crossed low for Tavernier to collect and calmly push home to help Bournemouth take a 1-0 lead.

Into the second half, Newcastle United intensified their attack, and Semenyo continued his active performance, creating threats for his team many times. In the 76th minute, Barnes sent a precise cross from the left, Gordon shoveled in at the back post and successfully equalized the score for Newcastle United, and both sides were back to the same starting line.

In the following game, both sides exchanged attacks and defenses, but neither side was able to rewrite the scoreline again. It is worth mentioning that when the game went into extra time, Bournemouth got a chance to score a header, and Vatara scored with a header inside the penalty area, but the referee, prompted by the VAR, decided that Vatara had committed a foul with a handball before he scored the goal after a look back, so the goal was canceled. The penalty caused dissatisfaction among the Bournemouth players and coaching team, and one of the assistant coaches was even red-carded by the referee for protesting too much.

In the end, the match ended with Bournemouth and Newcastle United shaking hands with a score of 1-1. The draw may have been a bit unfortunate for both sides, but it also showed how competitive and unpredictable the Premier League can be.
