Who is the manager of Bayern?
Bayern's current manager is Vincent Kompany.
Kompany is a Belgian former professional footballer of Congolese descent and one of the Belgian legends in world football, playing as a center back. In his prime, he was a longtime Manchester City
Captain.
Kompany started his career at Anderlecht in Belgium, playing for their youth team from 2000-2003 and their first team from 2003-2006.
He played for Hamburg in the Bundesliga from 2006-2008, during which time he was asked by the Hamburg manager to return to Hamburg in the second round of the group stage to help the team against Bayern at the '08 Olympics. In the end, Kompany and teammate Fellaini were both sent off with two yellows and a red in the first match of the tournament against the Brazilian national Olympic team. Both are suspended for the group stage.
On August 21, 2008, Hamburg's official webpage announced that an agreement had been reached with Manchester City for Vincent Kompany to move to the English Premier League side, where he will play from 2008-2019. Kompany ended an 11-year career with Manchester City and returned to Anderlecht as a player and manager.
On August 17, 2020, Kompany officially announced that he was hanging up his boots, ending his playing career and continuing his work as a manager.
In June 2022, Kompany became manager of Burnley in the Premier League.
On May 29, 2024, Burnley officially announced that Vincent Kompany would no longer hold the position of manager of the team, followed by Bayern's official announcement on the same day that Kompany had been appointed by Bayern Munich as the new manager of the team, replacing the previously departed Tuchel.
