Recently, Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon expressed his disappointment in public about his limited playing time in the Europa League this summer. The talented player candidly stated that despite his confidence in his ability and form, he has not been given enough playing time to realize his worth in the England national team competition.

"I'm disappointed because I had extremely high expectations of myself," Gordon said bluntly in the interview, "I've just had a really good season and I feel in top form and unstoppable. On the pitch, I'm confident that no one can really defend me and I'm confident that I can consistently contribute to the team for 90 minutes and help England win the honors."

However, the reality was very different from Gordon's expectations. In the Europa League, he was not used by manager Southgate and played very little. In response, Gordon showed a mature and sensible side, he revealed that he never took the initiative to ask Southgate why: "I never asked him why he gave me so little playing time, because I'm not the kind of person who likes to complain or question the coach's decisions. I just focused on doing my own thing and waiting for my chance to come."

Although his heart is full of regrets, Gordon has not given up his belief in himself and his vision for the future. He emphasized, "Even waiting on the bench, I was constantly thinking about how I could quickly adjust my state and change the game with my best performance if the coach put me on the court. Unfortunately, such an opportunity did not arise."

Gordon's words not only showed his professional attitude and self-confidence, but also his love for soccer and desire to win. Although he failed to get what he wished for in the Europa League, I believe that this young and promising player will continue to work hard and prove his worth with practical actions in the coming matches.
