After starting the season on a 3-game winless streak with just 2 points, a fat 9-0 beating at home to Bournemouth in the last round opened up the scoring to 13-5, but also knocked Scott Parker off the bench.

The first thing I'd like to say is that I've been working on this for a long time. This amazing start comes from the foundation of the winter vacation, plus the summer reinforcement is not ostentatious but very solid to the point.

On the eve of the closing of the summer transfer window, the Magpies have officially announced that they have splashed out a team record €70m (65m + 5m floating clause) to bring back Real Sociedad's Swedish striker Alexander Isak, who will be ready to make his debut as soon as this round.

By no coincidence, current Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe is the former head coach of the Cherries. After a draw at Anfield in April 2017, Eddie Howe's side played against

In the third minute, Andrew Robertson's pass to Luis Diaz from the left side of the box appeared to be a shot that Mohamed Salah missed from the center.

In the 11th minute, Joe Willock held up the ball on a counterattack and split the ball and Alexander Isak fired a shot high to the left of the top of the box.

In the 18th minute, Matt Targett dipped a precise shot from the left side of the field and Ryan Fraser's overhead kick from just inside the top of the box went high again.

Liverpool (England)

Saved by the offside line and woke up on that.

In the 60th minute, VVD's long pass to Mohamed Salah led to a one-touch pass to Luis Diaz, who was interfered with and conceded possession, and then Harvey Elliott's low shot from the top of the penalty area, after dribbling past a defender, was confiscated by the goalkeeper.

1-1 equalizer!

Roberto Firmino scored for the second straight round, the 101st goal of his Reds career, moving him past Kevin Keegan for 18th place on the team's all-time scoring list.

The equalizing goal lit up Anfield, which had been stifled for most of the match, and the Reds, with their morale boosted, went on a frantic pursuit of the attack, exacerbating Newcastle United's physical exertion.

In the 63rd minute, Andrew Robertson sent a cross in from the left side of the field to Luis Diaz, who shot off the right post from inside the box.

Newcastle United brought on Jacob Murphy for Ryan Fraser and Chris Wood for Alexander Isak in the 64th minute to try and hold on to the point with a more sedate defense.

Liverpool (England)

With James Milner in for Jordan Henderson in the 71st minute (captain's armband moved to VVD) Konstantinos Tsimikas in for Andrew Robertson and Fabio Carvalho in for TAA.

In the 79th minute, VVD passed the ball to Luis Diaz, who cut inside the top of the penalty area and shot to the left of the goal by the Magpies keeper, then Konstantinos Tsimikas opened the left corner, Roberto Firmino's header was blocked by the defenders.

In the 90th minute, Kieran Trippier tripped Luis Diaz and received a yellow, then James Milner opened up the left side of the field and picked up a free kick, Fabio Carvalho shot from the left side of the penalty box went wide of the near post.

Liverpool (England)

The rampant bombardment left Newcastle United on the verge of collapse, with Magpies players reduced to going down frequently to stall for time, even calling the therapist in to relieve the pressure.

In the 90th+3rd minute, Harvey Elliott crossed the ball and Roberto Firmino's shot from the right side of the field was blocked by a defender.

In the 90th+5th minute, Konstantinos Tsimikas' cross from the left side of the box was cleared by a defender and Joe Gomez fired a shot from the top of the box.

Despite the official five minutes of injury time being given to run out, the adjudicator had no intention of blowing the whistle. The Magpies' helplessness left them with a bitter taste in their mouths.

In the 90th+8th minute, James Milner fired in a corner kick from the right, Joe Gomez headed in a cross, Mohamed Salah scrambled to beat his taller opponent in successive attempts, and it was rising star Fabio Carvalho who eventually blasted a shot from the left side of the penalty area from close range.

A midweek win for the first time this season, another come-from-behind victory to grab the points. Just to add to that, a 0-0 win at neighbors Everton in Round 6 (with a goal for the Sugar Rush and an offside goal cancelling each other out) was a hard-fought way to extend a 12-game unbeaten run away from home in Merseyside derbies.

Jurgen Klopp said in his post-match interview that, to be honest, the goal in the final stages of extra time is

Liverpool (England)

A perfect response to the game. I'm very happy with the result and there's really nothing else to say.

Winning a game like this is a perfect result because it was a tough game, both sides defended with such intensity and the players were so committed that it's hard to keep your rhythm from start to finish in a game like this. When the 0-1 result stood until the end of halftime, I told my players in the lounge that we were looking a little bit frustrated right now and that we should go and conduct the ball more, and that only when we play like that do we become more of a threat. Also, we have to stay calm and continue to face the situation.

A result like this was able to wash away the frustration of the course of this game, which was one of the best nights we've ever had, and that's soccer.

He (Fabio Carvalho) is a very good young player, we changed a lot of things in this game, but he still showed that he adapted, and these kind of moments of desperation are what a player like him needs to experience.

It was a result that meant a lot to us and a game we will remember. Divock Origi contributed the winning goal in our previous 2-3 away defeat at Newcastle United, anything can happen before the end of the game and now we have proved that again.

Newcastle United played a good half, and despite suffering from pot stickers there is no need to be sad, after all, Anfield is second only to Old Trafford as the Magpies' ghost gate.

Pushing it this far is a kudos for being good enough on their own, in addition to the fact that their opponents haven't adjusted yet.

Furthermore, Eddie Howe has not fielded all his starters in this round, and it's not as if the Magpies are without injuries at this stage, with back-to-back games.
