In the early morning of November 26th, Taiwan time, the international media broke the news of Diego Maradona's death. He was operated on for a brain thrombosis only a few months ago, and according to reports, he died of a sudden heart attack.

After that, the Argentine government announced that it would hold three days of mourning, and President Alberto Fernandez also said: (Maradona) led us to the top of the world, brought us the ultimate happiness, you are the greatest person.

The soccer star who was unrivaled on the field and controversial off it may still be far from being described as great.

Back in 1976, Maradona was 15 years and 355 days old when he made his professional debut, breaking the record for the youngest player in Argentina. The team's head coach is said to have told Maradona to go on the pitch and put the ball between the defenders' feet, which he did in his first game.

The image of Maradona's first professional match still remains in the minds of many Argentines, and that foot crossing has since laid down Maradona's style: he's just better than you, and he'll make sure you know it.

Maradona's soccer career was not only full of highlights, but mostly achievements that no one else could ever reach.

In June 1983, a 23-year-old Maradona was playing for the Spanish soccer team Barcelona (Barcelona) when he lost a match against archrival Real Madrid (Real Madrid).

Fans, on rare occasions, gave Maradona a standing ovation in the middle of the stadium - because they knew they had witnessed the unthinkable. The next time this happened when the two teams faced each other was 22 years later with Ronaldinho.

And Maradona would be best remembered by the crowds for the June 22, 1986 World Cup match against England in Mexico.

Maradona scored two goals in that match, the first being the Hand of God that England fans hated so much - catching a pass in the air and flicking the ball into the goal with his hand, which is still one of the most controversial goals in the history of the World Cup.

However, in the next game, Maradona took the ball all the way from his own half of the field to 68 meters, one person shook through all the defenders along the way in England, and then cheated the goalie to the ground when facing the goalie block, shot into the net, and that goal, so far, is considered to be the goal of the century on the World Cup field (Goal of the Century).

After the 1986 World Cup, Maradona's career peak came when he was playing for Napoli in the Italian league, and he took over the whole team, breaking the AC Milan's record.

(Juventus) monopolized the title and won the Italian double for Napoli by constantly tearing apart the opponents' back line.

The alleys of Napoli are still filled with Maradona's iconography, and in 2000, Napoli retired the number 10, which represented the strongest player on the soccer field. After Maradona's death, Napoli announced that the name of the stadium would be changed to Stadio Maradona in honor of the great player's contribution.

While his individual ability on the pitch is unquestionable, Maradona's personal life, however, is full of controversy.

In 1991, Maradona left Naples because of a drug problem and was banned for 15 months. In the 1994 World Cup, he was expelled from the tournament because he was found to have used Ephedrine, a banned substance for athletes. Maradona retired from professional soccer in 1997, and was hospitalized for a long time from 2000 to 2004 due to heart problems.

In 2008, Maradona returned to soccer to become the coach of the Argentine national team, which was the first time that he and contemporary soccer star Lionel Messi, who has a similar body type and style of play, had a chance to play together.
