Manchester United veteran and former England international Paul Parker recently expressed his strong displeasure with current Arsenal defender Ben White's refusal to be called up to the England squad in a recent interview on Di Marzio's personal website, and gave his opinion on the possibility of Sancho and Sterling returning to the national team in the future.
Parker criticized Ben White for disrespecting the England team after his altercation with then England assistant coach Hollands during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and his early departure from the team as a result. He pointed out that Ben White has yet to show any willingness to return to the national team, despite the fact that Southgate and Holland have departed in quick succession, which is further evidence of his lack of respect for the team. Parker emphasized that if Ben White really cared about the England team, he would not have allowed this to happen. He also believes that although Ben White has performed well at Arsenal, England currently have a number of outstanding performing wing-backs and Ben White is not absolutely competitive.
For Sancho and Sterling, Parker is on the fence. He believes Sancho has never shown himself to be an integral part of England's history and will have to stand out from the competition if he is to return to the national team. As for Sterling, Parker points out that consistency is key, and that he needs to establish himself at Arsenal and improve his goal-scoring efficiency before he can get a call-up to the national team again.
