Arsenal, who have been expanding their squad this summer, are reportedly still hoping to sign a number of wingers before the end of the transfer window to replace Nicolas Bibby, who has been criticized as a waste of money, and the Portuguese media have reported that Arsenal are looking at another player called Bibby, a Brazilian winger from Porto.
Portuguese newspaper El Globo reported that 25-year-old Bibi joined Porto from Gammeo last season, and the news said that Arsenal had offered £25.3 million to buy the player this summer, but Porto flatly rejected it, and the Portuguese Premier League powerhouse insisted that unless they received £60 million in liquidated damages within the Bibi's contract, they wouldn't release the player.
Reports suggest that Arsenal will not pay £60 million, but have informed Bibi's manager that they will keep a close eye on his performance in the UEFA Europa League this season, and will not rule out making another bid later. Arsenal's right wing Nicolas Bibby, a longtime reserve last season, has reportedly been put up for sale by the club, with Newcastle and Westville rumored to be interested in taking him.
