Billy Sharp was born in February 1986 in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, the same year Chris Wilder left Southampton F.C., where he grew up, to play for Sheffield United F.C., the local team in his hometown. In the same year, Chris Wilder left his youth team Southampton F.C. to play for Sheffield United F.C. in his hometown of Sheffield, officially starting his career in soccer; 18 years later (2004), Sharp, a boy who was born in Sheffield, said goodbye to his youth team, Rotherham United F.C., and switched to play for Sheffield United, coincidentally with Wilder. Sharp, a Sheffield-born lad, left his youth team Rotherham United F.C. to play for Sheffield, coincidentally making his first professional appearance, as did Wilder; and 12 years later (2016), they were destined to play for the same team that had given them both their dream of making their professional debuts - Sharp, a 33-year old veteran captain, and Wilder, a 51-year old manager who had already fulfilled the dream of promotion for a number of teams - and, this time, this season, they had a difficult task to accomplish together.
