Chelsea beat Udinese 3-1 in a warm-up match in the early hours of Saturday (30th) to break a 2-game winless streak. Newly joined wing Staanen scored his first goal since joining the team, and is gradually integrating into the team.

Chelsea was criticized for their performance in the previous 2 warm-up matches when they lost to Charlotte FC by 12 yards and 0-4 to Arsenal in the last match. Chelsea's players are very energetic this time, with Nicolas Gendry scoring a powerful shot in the 20th minute of the first half. The French international is suspected to have missed the vaccination and was not able to join the team's trip to the United States, and has missed 3 warm-up matches, but it seems to have no effect on his form.

In the 37th minute, Staanen's half-single kick was blocked by goalkeeper Marko Schweser, but the ball rebounded into the net, creating a new England international. At the end of the first half, Di Luofeo scored a goal to bring Udinese to 1-2.

After the change of sides, the game was tied until extra time, when Mason Monte scored at the near post to seal a 3-1 win for Chelsea. Chelsea has finished all the pre-season warm-up matches and will be ready for the new season.
