Real Madrid:
Real Madrid have won the most La Liga titles so far - 36 times. As many as four of those have been five consecutive titles. Their most recent La Liga title came in the 23/24 season, and they also took home the Champions League at the same time.
Barcelona:
Barcelona, winners of the inaugural La Liga, follow with 27 La Liga titles, and four consecutive titles under Cruyff. They were also the winners of the league title last season.
Atletico Madrid (soccer team)
Eight of Atletico's 11 La Liga titles were won in the 20th century. Their competitiveness declined for a while into the 21st century until the emergence of Simeone. Under Simeone's leadership Atletico won two La Liga titles in the 13/14 and 20/21 seasons.
Athletic Bilbao:
The only three teams in La Liga that have never been relegated. They won four titles in the seasons 1929/30, 1930/31, 1933/34 and 1935/36. They also won the championship in the seasons 1942/43, 1955/56, 1982/83 and 1983/84. The club has a treaty restriction to use only Basque players, and Athletic Bilbao's competitiveness in La Liga has been limited over the years.
Valencia:
Valencia also have six La Liga titles to their name, the impressive Valencia of the early 21st century, who not only reached back-to-back Champions League finals, but also won the 01/02 and 03/04 La Liga seasons. Prior to that they won the 41/42, 43/44, 46/47 and 70/71 La Liga titles.
Real Sociedad:
Real Sociedad have won the title on 2 occasions, with Real Sociedad celebrating their first La Liga title in the 80/81 season and defending it the following season.
Real Betis (soccer team)
The only championship was the distant 1934/35 season.
Sevilla, Spain
Sevilla are known as the kings of the UEFA Cup, but the La Liga title they won only once in the 1945/46 season.
La Coruña or A Coruña (city in Galicia, Spain)
The 1999/2000 La Liga title was the highlight of this team, which is also the only one of the nine teams currently in the second division.
