In a recent media interview, Villa Football Club's president of operations, Monchi, spoke highly of the team's young striker, Duran, and revealed the strong interest of several clubs in the young talent.
Monchi began by confirming Duran's high popularity in the transfer market, "At least 40 clubs have expressed strong interest in Duran." This number undoubtedly highlights Duran's potential and value in soccer, and reflects the recognition and pursuit of the young striker by various teams.
However, Monchi emphasized more on Villa manager Emery's firm confidence in Duran: "Emery is very optimistic about Duran, and he believes that Duran is fully capable of being among the best strikers in the world." Such an assessment is not only an affirmation of Duran's individual ability, but also a recognition of Villa FC's youth training system and cultivation mechanism.
Monchi also spoke about Duran's professional attitude and development: "It is true that Duran had thoughts of leaving the club before, mainly because of his desire to get more playing opportunities, which is a very normal professional pursuit. But now, his situation has improved and he is having a great time at Villa and showing more maturity and consistency."
Looking back at Duran's career, the young striker, who is just 20 years old, has already shown a lot of potential. Last season, he made 37 appearances for Villa, including 10 starts, and scored 8 goals. And so far this season, he has contributed two goals to the team, remaining efficient in his limited playing time.
