Gomes said: "It's extremely interesting and challenging to play for England with some of the best players in the world. It's a great honor for me. When I found out that I had been given my debut, I was full of excitement and nerves. But when I stepped on the pitch and played alongside these talented teammates, all that pressure went away. It was a very reassuring night and I felt very comfortable and able to show my strengths."

Gomes expressed his deep gratitude for the support of head coach Kasli: "The trust and support of the head coach means everything to me. Being able to play for the national team is a great honor in itself, and having a coach who trusts you and supports you so much makes it even easier. Speaking of captain Harry Kane, Gomes couldn't hide his admiration: "I've only seen Harry on TV before, and he's always been so good. But it's a great honor for me to be able to play alongside him up close and witness every one of his great moments. Harry was not only a top player, he was a wonderful human being. On the pitch, he leads by example and inspires every one of his teammates with his actions. Today's two goals and everything he has done for the team is the best proof of that. I am very proud and honored to play alongside a leader like Harry."
