After Israel's 1-2 defeat against Italy in the 2nd round of the UEFA A League group stage, Israeli striker Solomon was interviewed by the media to express his thoughts on the outcome of the match as well as his feelings about his team's performance.
Solomon began by expressing his disappointment with the loss, "I do feel a little disappointed with the result of the loss. But we must recognize that Italy is a very strong team and it is always a challenge to play against them." However, despite the unsatisfactory result, Solomon spoke highly of his team's performance in the match, "But I am proud of our team. We showed great athleticism and teamwork in this game. I think that we played well today."
Speaking about specifics in the game, Solomon was honest about the problems his team had in the final stages, "In the final third, we missed some things. It was very unfortunate because if we had been able to capitalize on those chances, maybe the result would have been different." He singled out one of his chances in the first half, "I had a good chance but couldn't capitalize on it. It's a lesson for me and something I need to work on in the future."
Nonetheless, Solomon did not let individual mistakes negate the efforts of the whole team: "There were moments in the game when we played well enough to take the initiative on the field. This proves that we are capable of fighting against any strong team. It's just that when facing an opponent of Italy's caliber, we have to be more decisive in seizing opportunities when they arise."
Finally, Solomon re-emphasized the team's overall performance: "Overall, although we are a bit disappointed with the final result, we are very happy with the team's performance in the game. We are a united group with common goals and beliefs. I believe we will continue to work hard for better results in the coming matches."
