With Sterling officially joining Arsenal, various discussions surrounding his departure from Chelsea are heating up. While some of the public opinion blamed Sterling's departure on Chelsea's transfer policy and internal management problems, former Chelsea player Gala offered a different insight. He believes that the player's own performance during his time at Chelsea is also worthy of deep reflection.

In his two seasons with the Blues, Sterling has contributed 19 goals and 12 assists in all competitions, but those numbers have not met Gala's high standards. "Much of Sterling's situation at Chelsea stems from his own failure to live up to expectations in those two years." Gala bluntly pointed out that "as a striker, the number of goals and assists he has scored is clearly not enough to support his position as the core of the team."

Gala further analyzed that the arrival of a new coach tends to make lineup changes based on the actual performance of the players. "When a coach finds that a player's performance is not enough to support the team's needs, making the decision to let him leave the team is the norm in professional soccer." He emphasized that Sterling's departure was not the fault of the coach personally, but a natural consequence based on his actual performance.

However, Gala also expressed his expectations and wishes for Sterling's future. "I believe Sterling will find a new start at Arsenal." He said, "You can see from the smile on his face when he announced his joining that he is looking forward to and passionate about joining this club. As a footballer, it is vital to be able to enjoy the game and stay passionate on the pitch."

Gala also singled out Sterling's experience working with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta during his time at Manchester City as being key to Sterling finding his best form at his new owners. "Their experience together at Manchester City could have a positive impact on Sterling's performance at Arsenal." Gala said, "But it will depend on Sterling's own efforts and potential as to how far he can recover."
