Earlier, Van Dijk, 30, spoke to Ferdinand about how he felt mentally after returning from a 10-month absence due to injury last season.
Van Dijk stated, "Right now I feel like I'm at the top of my game, but when I'm just coming back it takes time to get back up to speed and there's no excuse for that."
The Netherlands international tore ligaments in October 2020 and has been in great form since making his comeback and leading his side to treble glory this season. "In about three to five months I recovered my speed and confidence and a lot of the time I felt I was unbeatable."
