(The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced on Saturday (14) that it has confirmed that China has given up hosting the 2023 Asian Cup final week. the AFC added that it will actively communicate with the stakeholders and the venue will be announced as soon as possible after the negotiation is completed.
The final week of the 2023 Asian Cup was originally scheduled to be held in China from June to July next year, with 24 teams from China, Japan, Iran and South Korea competing for the title in 10 cities across China. However, the Chinese organizing committee said it had decided to give up hosting the tournament in view of the development of the local epidemic: it is difficult to make commitments and arrangements for next year's Asian Cup to be held in a fully open format.
