The Spanish media is reporting that Sporting Madrid are planning to officially buy out striker Kevin Kishavin from Barcelona this summer for a transfer fee of €40 million. Madrid will sell the French international to Barcelona for 120 million euros in the summer of 2019, and if the loan is finalized this season, Madrid will net 80 million euros in three years from the Kishavin deal.
The 31-year-old Kishavin's poor performance during his time with Barcelona, coupled with his high salary, led to the club's decision to loan him back to the club in August last year to ease the financial burden. Kishavin has been reborn, playing 25 matches for the club this season, 18 of them as a starter, scoring 8 goals and 4 assists. Coach Szemonyi is satisfied with his performance, and with the possible departure of another scorer, Luis Suarez, in the summer, it is even more important for the club to keep Kishavin.
