Dutch soccer legend van der Vaart recently expressed his views on some hot topics in the current soccer world in an interview, especially on Manchester United manager Jens Ten Hag, defender de Ligt and striker Zylketzer's insights have attracted a lot of attention.
Speaking about the German players he admires the most, Van der Vaart did not hesitate to mention Musiala and spoke highly of him. At the same time, he also expressed his expectations for Sane, that the German winger has only played 20% of his potential, but already enough to shine on the field. Van der Vaart hopes that Sane can find his form as soon as possible, reach or even surpass Mbappe's level, and show his true strength.
Van der Vaart, however, looked a little puzzled when it came to United and Ten Hagar's reinforcement strategy. He acknowledged that de Ligt is an extremely good player and expressed his admiration for the Dutch defender. However, van der Vaart believes that Temhag's approach of bringing in a large number of Dutch players at Manchester United may have been a mistake. He mentioned that de Ligt was not an undisputed starter at Juventus and Bayern Munich, but the Dutch defender was lucky enough to be able to keep playing for the giants. Van der Vaart's comments seem to suggest that Ten Hag's reinforcement decisions may have relied too heavily on the nationality factor, rather than being based solely on a player's athleticism and adaptability.
Van der Vaart gave a more positive assessment of another Dutch star, Zirker Zee. He believes that Zirkser has all the necessary conditions to become a top center forward, including physical quality, technical ability and attacking threat. Although Zirkser's playing time at United is currently unstable, van der Vaart believes that as long as he gets more playing opportunities, he will be able to further improve his performance and play a more important role in the United squad.
