Ewarton's defeat against Crystal Palace in the last eight of the EFL Cup was a disaster for the team. In addition to the team's 4-goal loss, wing forward Antoine Doncin was confirmed to have suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury after the game, and the season ended early, which is definitely a big blow to the Dragons, who are currently struggling for relegation in the league.
Anzus Doncin was substituted 17 minutes into the first half, and was assisted off the field by a medic with a pained expression. After the game, EWT released a statement: A scan showed that Anzus Doncin had suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, and will miss the rest of the season, and he'll undergo surgery next week.
The 30-year-old Antoine Doncin joined the team from Crystal Palace this season and was immediately utilized, scoring seven goals and handing out four assists in 27 matches for Ewarton in all competitions. Under the leadership of new boss Lambert, the performance of the Dragon-Fat Sugar has not seen much improvement, losing four of their last five league matches, and are only three points ahead of Walford, who are in the bottom three, but with two fewer matches to play, the threat of relegation has not yet been lifted completely.
