La Liga President Tevas gave his insights on several topics related to the soccer world in recent interviews, including the controversial financial irregularities at English Premier League club Manchester City, the rise of the Saudi Football League and its impact on La Liga, and the handling of coaching pay issues within La Liga.
Firstly, talking about the sanctions that Manchester City are facing for violating the Premier League's financial fairness policy, Twas revealed that he had spoken to numerous Premier League clubs and found that most of them were critical of City's violations and believed that City should be sanctioned accordingly. In particular, he pointed out that although City had escaped sanctions in the past due to procedural issues, the Premier League had taken tougher measures this year, including the possibility of deducting points from offending teams, in order to maintain a level playing field in the league. Tevas also said that Manchester City's "economic dumping" behavior on the Spanish soccer and the whole of European soccer has a negative impact, but the La Liga will not take similar extreme measures to avoid repeating the past financial problems led to the dissolution of the club.
Then, on the question of whether the Saudi Football League's massive introduction of players will pose a threat to La Liga, Tewas appeared relatively optimistic. He believes that although the Saudi side has made a lot of moves at the beginning, it has started to adjust its strategy, realizing that relying only on the introduction of players can't fully enhance the competitiveness of the league. Therefore, the Saudi league is exploring other ways to enhance its strength, which to a certain extent reduces the external pressure faced by La Liga. Tewas emphasized that La Liga is not worried about the threat of the Saudi League at the moment, believing that both sides can grow together in competition.
Finally, regarding the meeting between the Liga MX and the coaches' salary issues, Tewas said that the meeting went smoothly and did not result in the chaotic situation that was rumored. He pointed out that although some coaches complained about not getting the salary they deserve, the problem is gradually being solved through communication and negotiation. Tewas also warned that some people may deliberately exaggerate or distort the facts to create confusion, but the Liga MX will adhere to the principles of fairness and transparency to ensure that the legitimate rights and interests of coaches are protected.
