In his first interview since joining Girona recently, Van der Beck showed a mature attitude towards his past time at Manchester United and a positive outlook on the new challenges ahead. He made it clear that despite his career at United not going as well as expected, he has nothing negative to say about the Premier League giants.
"I always have a mindset of respect and gratitude, so I won't say anything bad about Manchester United." So said Van der Beck. During his time at United, the experience was not all bleak for him, despite the fact that he failed to get a consistent run of games. He confessed, "It's true that I didn't play too many games during my time at United, but it wasn't an unproductive time. I worked with so many great players and dedicated staff and these valuable experiences will be an integral part of my career."
Speaking about his new owners Girona, Van der Beck's words were full of anticipation and enthusiasm. "Girona is a wonderful club and the team plays magnificent soccer, which is exactly what I aspire to." He excitedly stated, "I believe that my inclusion can help the team and I am working hard to do so. I hope to rediscover the joy of playing here and create more memories with my teammates."
