Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha gave an insight into United's summer transfer operations, Ten Hagar's future at the club and the current state of the squad in a recent media interview.
In response to the issue of Ten Hag's position, Saha was outspoken in stating that Ten Hag's position will be under immense pressure if United lose against Southampton on Saturday. In particular, the team's poor performance against Liverpool and the lack of signs of correcting mistakes has put Temhag under a lot of pressure. Saha believes that if Southampton can control the tempo of the game like Liverpool, Ten Hagar's position will be in jeopardy.
Regarding Ten Hagar's tactical diversity, Saha believes that while coaches need to find different ways to beat strong teams, it's more important to maintain consistency in philosophy and develop a game plan that the players buy into and that can hurt the opposition. He pointed out that United's current problem is the lack of a clear game plan, not just a matter of tactical diversity.
In terms of players, Saha doesn't think United desperately need Hoylum's return to solve their goalscoring problems. He thinks United are doing well in creating chances, but just lack some composure as a finisher. At the same time, he also emphasized the importance of Rashford and called on the fans to give him more support than criticism. Saha believes that if Rashford can stay fit and confident, he will be one of the most threatening players for United.
Regarding United's midfield problems, Saha bluntly said that the team relies too much on Maynu, but he also admitted that Maynu is still young and needs time to grow. He mentioned that Scholes is still able to maintain a threat in the midfield at the end of his career, which is what United lacks at the moment. At the same time, he also expressed regret for the players United missed in the summer window, especially midfield talents such as Olmo and Wiltz.
On the international soccer front, Saha paid high tribute to Crowe's achievements. He believes that Crowe is not only a top scorer but a role model for all children. On the question of whether Crowe will play in the 2026 World Cup and reach the 1,000-goal milestone, Saha expressed his belief that Crowe will do everything he can to achieve his goal.
Finally, when it comes to the winner of this season's Premier League title, Saha has no hesitation in choosing Manchester City. He believes that City, with their consistency and constant improvement of world-class players, are the strongest contenders for the Premier League title this season.
