Cotton then went with his mother Claire and girlfriend Rebecca to a venue in Manchester to watch a fight, but the focus of the incident seemed to have moved from the ring to the corridor outside the lounge. Cotton's mother Claire then came out of the room to ask who did it, one of the hooligans responded: no one, Claire was not willing to show weakness: well, then you beat it! Claire pushed one of the men, who then punched Claire in return. The situation was then thrown into chaos, in which Cotton also came forward to defend himself, trying to defend his mother and girlfriend, but did not make a move.
Claire's one-against-three picture was uploaded on the Internet, where a man wearing a Cap hat stood up for the Cotton family to fight back, and even casually picked up a fire extinguisher to beat and angrily threw the pile of hooligans. The Manchester police have indicated that they will open an investigation into the incident.
