Suarez missed a 12-yarder in the final PK, not realizing that he was the only one on both sides of the 10-man team to miss, and both goalkeepers also failed to pounce on a 12-yarder, resulting in the first Suarez's missed shot becoming the most fatal moment of the game. Uruguay was eliminated in the PKs after a tough battle with Peru.
