Chelsea's striker Lucas Lukaku finally broke his 5-game goal drought in the early hours of Thursday (10th) morning in the quarterfinals of the World Champions Cup, beating Hilal 1-0 in the first half to help the team advance to the final. Chelsea will compete with Copa Libertadores champions Pomeranz in the early hours of Sunday morning (13th) for the title, and as both teams have never won this trophy before, no matter which team wins the title, history will be made.

Although Chelsea's manager Duchene was unable to lead the team because of a new diagnosis of pneumonia, the last UEFA Champions League winners were much stronger than Saudi Arabian team Hilal, creating a number of attacks in the first half, with Zorzinu, Xueyeji, Markus Alonso, and Lukaku missing a chance to score at the near goal, but fortunately, the Belgian international grasped the opponents' failure to clear the net in the 32nd minute and scored a goal at the near goal to make it 1-0. It was also his first goal since the EFL Cup match against Chesterfield in early January.
