Barcelona, which has been plagued by financial problems, is about to receive a large sum of money to save its life. According to Spanish radio station RAC1, Barcelona has now reached an agreement with Spotify, a famous European streaming music channel, with a total value of 280 million euros in a three-year funding deal.

Barcelona's sponsors for this season, Rakuten, have a 55 million euro annual sponsorship deal until the end of the season. Despite the team's declining results in recent years, and the departure of the king of the ball, Mies, in the previous year, Barcelona's signature still has appeal, and a number of brands have approached Barcelona, with RAC1 pointing to the success of Spotify in winning the deal. The most special feature of this funding is that it includes the naming rights of the Luyong Stadium, which is rumored to be renamed as Spotify Luyong Stadium.

Sweden-based Spotify, whose owner Eike is a huge soccer fan and Arsenal loyalist, made a high-profile announcement last year that it was making a bid to buy the company.

However, Arsenal's boss Koankee refused to sell the deal. Barcelona are reportedly only in the final details of a deal with Spotify, with an official announcement expected next week.
