Alaba is an Austrian professional soccer player who plays mainly as a left back, but also as a center back and midfielder, and currently plays for La Liga club Real Madrid. His father is a Nigerian former hip-hop artist now working as a DJ, while his mother is a Filipino working as a paramedic.
At the age of 10, he joined a soccer club in the neighborhood of Aspern in Vienna, but at his father's request, he went to a cooperative school in Vienna, Austria, and at the age of 15, Alaba got his first chance to play professionally.
Transferred to Bayern in the summer of 2008
Munich's youth team, playing in the U-17 and U-19 competitions, was promoted to the second team in 2009-2010.In January 2010, the club announced that Alaba, along with two other second team players, would follow the first team for the remainder of their training.
On May 28, 2021, La Liga side Real Madrid announced that they had agreed a free transfer with Bayern Munich, with Alaba signing a five-year deal starting on July 1st. He will wear the No. 4 shirt left by Sergio Ramos.
