Aston Villa managed to beat Everton with a thrilling 3-2 victory in the 4th round of the English Premier League on September 15, Beijing time. After the match, Villa striker Watkins was interviewed by the media, sharing his thoughts on the match as well as his personal status and future outlook.

Talking about teammate Duran's game-winning goal, Watkins couldn't hide his excitement: "That goal was amazing, and it completely changed the course of the game. Duran always comes through in the clutch and shows his remarkable ability. Everyone knows his potential and he never disappoints. That goal was undoubtedly one of the best goals we've seen this season and it lifted our entire team."

When it comes to his state, Watkins is relatively pragmatic. He confessed that due to the end of the European Cup and the ensuing international match days, he didn't get enough rest and recovery time: "From the end of the European Cup to now, I've been trying to adjust my condition. A lot of the players are facing the same fitness issues and we are all trying to recover. I don't feel like I'm 100% yet, but I'm doing my best. Today I was able to score two goals, which is already very satisfying for me. Of course, I also feel a tinge of regret that I didn't manage to complete the hat-trick, but that's soccer, there will always be regrets and unfinished business."

For the future of the team, Watkins is full of confidence and expectation. He particularly mentioned the upcoming Champions League tournament: "We did have bad luck against Arsenal, but today we proved our strength. We are capable of achieving good results in the Premier League and are ready to face the challenge of the Champions League. Now we have to focus on preparing for the next matches and everyone is looking forward to the Champions League. We believe that if we are united and work hard, we will be able to show our style in the Champions League."
