Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has recently issued a direct and firm response to La Liga president Carlos Tevez's comments that "many Premier League clubs want Manchester City to be sanctioned". He began by acknowledging a certain reality in Tevez's view - "Maybe he's right, all Premier League teams want us to be sanctioned, that's for sure." But then Guardiola turned the conversation to a more central issue - justice and the fairness of the ruling.
Stressing that justice exists in modern democracies, Guardiola called on all parties involved, including Mr. Twiss and the rest of the Premier League, to be patient and wait for the outcome of the independent commission's ruling. "Wait for the ruling of the independent commission," he said, "it's not complicated." He further noted that both he and Manchester City FC believe that they have done nothing wrong and therefore they have chosen to submit the dispute to an independent commission for a ruling and are willing to wait for the final outcome.
With regard to the upcoming hearings, Guardiola has expressed his expectation that they will be concluded as soon as possible. He is confident that an independent committee will be able to make a fair decision based on facts and evidence and is looking forward to it. At the same time, he also made it clear that he and the City players, including rising star Erling Harland, are not lawyers and therefore will not get too involved or discuss the matter, but will put all their trust in the decision of the independent committee.
Guardiola also addressed the concerns and expectations about the matter, understanding the concerns and speculation but also reiterating the principle that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. He called on everyone to remain calm and patient and wait for the final verdict of the independent commission, believing that justice will eventually come.
