Famous Shearer talked about the similarities between Pogba and Perón, and Richards thought that both Pogba and Perón are very talented, but not stable.
Richards had this to say, "I remember Perón only fleetingly, before he came to the
Manchester United Football Club
Before that, you expect some important work to be produced. Like Pogba, Pogba stayed longer and when you see him, every time you expect him to do something superb, and it's the same for Perón."
"You'd want him to score a 40-yard-ish field goal or give up a 60-yard pass, just everything is a little fast for him. He wants to slacken the tempo a little bit, which is something I can't understand, and people always ask me, 'Why can't he do that all the time?'"
"They have that kind of talent and work very hard, it's about stability. You're asking for talent beyond their size, aren't you? That's one thing I've always wanted to understand, by all accounts they tried their best and were great players, it just didn't work out."
Shearer echoed this sentiment, going on to make amends, "I definitely agree with the comparison, I think everyone looked at Perón and thought, 'wow, what a player'. £28 million, that was a lot of money at the time, everyone was expecting a lot from him every week as far as talent was concerned, he's totally fine. wise, he was perfectly fine."
