After Manchester United's 3-0 away win over Southampton in the 4th round of the English Premier League, the team's center back Derek De Ligt spoke to TNT Sports to share his thoughts on the game and his outlook for the future.

Delicht began by recognizing the importance of the victory, stating, "With only three points in the first three rounds, today's win is definitely crucial for us. It helped us relieve the pressure and showed us what the team is really made of." He particularly praised teammate Onana for his outstanding performance in the match, especially for pouncing on the crucial penalty kick that turned things around for his team. "Onana's save was the key to changing the game for us, he was amazing."

Speaking about his set-piece goal, de Ligt said it wasn't completely unexpected, but a result of the team's usual training. "We have been practicing hard on set-pieces, so when the opportunity came, I was able to take advantage of it. Of course, it couldn't have been done without the support and cooperation of my teammates."

In addition, de Ligt revealed a heartwarming little secret - he dedicated the goal to his wife, who was celebrating her birthday that day. "It was a special gift for her and I hope she can feel my love and joy." The gesture not only showed his softer side as a player, but also brought him closer to his fans.

After a tough international day, de Ligt says he is gradually getting back into the rhythm of the game. "I don't need to prove myself particularly, but I know I am capable of contributing to the team. I'm happy to be able to play three games in a row, it's a good opportunity for me to work out." He also expressed his expectations for the future, "We have a good team and many young players are growing up. I believe that if we stay united and continue to work hard, we can achieve more victories."

Finally, de Ligt spoke about his physical condition, "I feel good, just some cramps towards the end of the game. But this is the first time I've played three consecutive matches in five months, so I'll continue to try to adjust my condition and contribute more to the team." His positive attitude and strong belief will undoubtedly add more motivation and hope to United's future.
