Officials announced Monday that they have extended the contracts of three players in the youth system, including center Joe Hugill, 17, forward Charlie McNeill, also 17, and goalkeeper Paul Woolston, 22. In between, Hugill and McNeill both signed long term contracts, while Woolston only secured a new one year contract. Generally, a long term contract refers to a contract with a duration of three years or more.

Hugill has also made nine appearances for the Under-18 youth team, scoring seven goals and assisting once. He is therefore ahead of McNeil at the same age in the current competition.

By contrast, goalkeeper Woolston, from Newcastle, has also secured an extension, but a one-year contract means that his way out has fallen into the shadows.
