Had there been no VAR in the 2020-21 Premier League season, Arsenal would have ended up finishing fourth in the league.

The British media Sun newspaper based on relevant data for the study, found that Arsenal is the VAR system in the launch of the "biggest victims".

Had the original decision in the match not been altered due to the intervention of VAR, Arteta's side would have gained four more points this season. Had VAR not been used in the Premier League this season, Arsenal would have finished above Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Chelsea in the table, and the Gunners would have secured the final Champions League spot for next season.

Now, however, the job is the opposite, with Arsenal finishing the season in eighth place in the table, the first time they have not been in Europe since the 1995-96 season.

According to the Sun's calculations, if VAR is not activated, the 2020-21 Premier League table will see some changes: Liverpool, who are currently five points behind Manchester United in the table, will swap places with the Red Devils, and the Reds will finish as runners-up in the league, but they will still be 13 points behind table-toppers Manchester City. West Ham United, who qualified for next season's UEFA Cup, will be behind Tottenham Hotspur due to goal difference, and will unfortunately not be in Europe.

Throughout the season, VAR (Video Assistant Referee System) changed a total of 123 penalties, blowing away 42 goals, awarding 29 penalties, canceling 22 penalty calls, and issuing 17 additional red cards.

Arsenal are the team most affected by VAR, which has made a total of 12 corrections against them, three favorable and nine obscure, resulting in a total of four points lost throughout the season.

If the extra points gained (and lost) due to the VAR alteration were deducted (gotten), Arsenal would have overtaken Chelsea, Leicester City, West Ham, and Tottenham ahead of them (Arsenal and Chelsea are tied on points, both with a goal difference of 20, but the Gunners have a total of one more goal than the Blues) to claim a spot in next season's UEFA Champions League.
