The Mavericks' original team name was the Dallas Mavericks.
"Mavericks" originally referred to unbranded calves or livestock, and was initially translated as "Mavericks" when it first entered China. Later, as culture changed, the word "Mavericks" evolved to mean "mavericks. "In 2017, Mavericks owner Cuban decided that the name "Mavericks " was not an accurate enough name to convey the team's spirituality, so he decided to change the Chinese team name.
