Inter Milan shook hands with English Premier League powerhouse Manchester City with a score of 0-0 in the first round of the new Champions League season, despite playing on the road, thanks to the team's excellent play and tenacity. After the match, Simone Inzaghi, the head coach of the Blue and Black Army, spoke in an interview on Prime Video and spoke highly of the players' performance.

"My heartfelt congratulations to my lads, they played very well tonight and everyone showed great professionalism and team spirit." Junior Inzaghi couldn't hide his pride, "In such an important game, we faced world-class opponents Manchester City, but our players were united and worked together to withstand the onslaught of the opposition. In the first half, we even had a chance to break through City's goal, but unfortunately we failed to capitalize on it. And in the second half, although our opponents put us under more pressure, we held our ground and didn't let them get the better of us."

Speaking about the preparation and schedule before the match, Inzaghi Jr. said: "Playing away against Manchester City three days before the Milan Derby is definitely a huge challenge, but that's the way our schedule is organized and we have to adapt and overcome it. We know that we need to do better in the last 30 meters of the field, which requires the players to have enough skill and understanding. Luckily, our players are very skillful and we've been training a lot in the shooting department. The fact that we scored the most goals in Serie A last season gives us confidence and we will continue to redouble our efforts to score more goals in the coming matches."

Inzaghi Jr. regretted the missed chances in the match: "Against top teams like Manchester City and Real Madrid, you always feel like you have a chance to score, but such matches are always full of variables. Both Taremi and Darmian missed great chances to score, especially Darmian, who told me that Barella called for him to pass the ball, and the City defender's positioning was excellent. It's a real shame to miss these chances as I was very keen to win this game. However, considering City haven't lost at home in the Champions League since 2018, our performance was good enough."
