On September 8, Guangzhou Evergrande foreigner Paulinho released a video today confirming his decision to retire. Upon learning the news, former Dalian side player Zhu Xiaogang mentioned his experience of playing against Paulinho and confessed, "I was fortunate enough to have played against him once, and it was indeed very powerful."
Like Zhu, Paulinho has had a few encounters in the Chinese Super League.Playing twice for Guangzhou from June 2015 to August 2017 and July 2018 to June 2021, Paulinho has played 176 games for Guangzhou, scoring 75 goals and assisting 29 times, winning one AFC Champions League, four Chinese Super League, one FA Cup and two Super Cups.
