On July 21, the 24th round of the Beijing-Tianjin derby in the Chinese Super League, Guoan won 2-0 over Jinmen Tiger at home. In the second half of the game, substitute Zhang Yuan played well, not only scored the winning goal, but also assisted Guoan's first goal. After the game, Zhang Yuan accepted the Beijing Youth Daily interview, sharing his own journey over this period of time.
--The first time these two teams met this season, they received a red card in the 19th minute, what do you think of today's "self-redemption"?
In fact, I got a rare chance to start in that Tianjin game. I cherish such moments, but the more I want to perform well, the more easily my legs and feet are affected by psychological factors. After being sent off with a red card, I felt sorry for the team. So even though I was on the bench later, I had nothing to complain about. In the days that followed, I could only keep working hard and I firmly believe that hard work pays off. I'm very happy to have scored today, the goal was very important to me personally, and most importantly, the goal helped the team to gain three valuable points.
--On tears after a goal
The one word I can use to describe this year at Guan An is "difficult". The reason I shed tears was also because I went through such a difficult time. But I am grateful because I persevered through it. I want to thank everyone who believed in me, supported me and helped me. My goal was a good start, I don't have anything to celebrate, I have to keep working hard.
