In the 29th minute, Romania scored! Lunin's long pass from the back was cut straight out and Stanciu's ball in front of him curled in a long shot from a position at the top of the pitch for a worldie! Romania leads Ukraine 1-0.
In the 34th minute, Romania's tactical corner kick from the left side was broken up and Sudakov countered the ball to the ground, the referee didn't say anything. In the 36th minute, Mudric got a cross from the left, Dragusin returned to the defense to head clear, then a Ukrainian corner appeared and Mudric's goal was bounced off his teammates. In the 40th minute, Lord Stanciu almost scored when he hit the crossbar on a Romanian corner kick opportunity.
Romania led Ukraine 1-0 at halftime.
The second half started and in the 53rd minute Romania scored again! Denis Mann's ball from the right was blocked and Razvan Marin's ball went straight to the far post, where it funneled through Lunin and into the net to give Romania a 2-0 lead.
Romania extended their lead in the 57th minute! Latiu's goal near the box was blocked by Lunin, and from a Romanian corner kick, Dennis Mann's cross from the box was easily blocked by Dragus to give Romania a 3-0 lead over Ukraine.
In the 62nd minute, both sides made consecutive substitutions and adjustments, with Romania making two consecutive substitutions and Ukraine making three consecutive substitutions. In the 64th minute, Mudryk's cross into the box from any goal scoring opportunity in the middle of the Ukrainian front was kicked into the goal by Yarmolenko in the air. Konoplyanka got a yellow card for laying off Dragus in the 68th minute, and Stanciu's free kick chance from Romania's left side hit the side netting directly.
Ukraine also had a free kick opportunity in the 69th minute that Sudakov hit directly off the bottom of the wall. In the 76th minute, Yarmolenko played a diagonal ball in from the right side and Sudakov was fired wide by Nita for Ukraine's first positive shot of the match. Sudakov scored in the 78th minute when Yaremchuk got the ball to turn and hit a shot that was also blocked.
In the 79th minute, Razvan Marin brought down Mudrick and got a yellow card. In the 84th minute, Dovbic sent in a direct kick and Mudric's follow up goal was kicked away. Romania made a substitution in the 86th minute and Stanciu received applause from the crowd. In the second half, four minutes of extra time, in the 92nd minute, Jaremciuk's shot from the front of the penalty area was slightly too high, and Mudric's goal from outside the penalty area was obtained in the second stage.
Finally, Romania beat Ukraine 3-0 in the first match of the group stage.
