After Romania won the game, the team chose a special ceremony to thank the fans who followed them all the way. After the game, the Haji 10 greeted all their teammates to the Romanian fans and the team got down on one knee as they sang loudly for the fans. The fans also applauded the players. In such an atmosphere, even the blue-haired, "conspicuous bag" Ratiu, Romania's No. 2, became emotional, and Ratiu burst into tears in front of the camera.

The Romanian team is well aware that it hasn't been easy for them along the way and the following of their fans has been touching. There are no weak teams in Europe, and before this game they had only won one game at the Euros, beating England 3-2 in the final group stage of Euro 2000.

Over the next 24 years, Romania never won a European Cup. Statistically, Romania's total Euro win rate was only 6%, with only one win in the first 16 matches and 5 draws and 10 losses in the remaining 15 matches. Despite losing in most cases, Romanian fans haven't given up on cheering for their national team. That's probably why the Romanian team was willing to get down on their knees and thank their fans.
